What is Candy's mission?

The Solana Migration

What is the Solana migration?

Candy collectibles are moving to Solana. Beginning in May 2026, your collectibles will be re-minted onto the Solana blockchain, where you'll hold them in a self-custody Solana wallet. The move gives fans fast, low-cost transactions, trusted self-custody, and access to a much broader marketplace ecosystem. This migration is the foundation, not the finish line.

Why is Candy moving to Solana?

Because fans deserve their assets on a fast, secure, scalable blockchain built for long-term ownership and broader utility. We evaluated this decision carefully against a clear set of priorities: strong security and proven scale, low-cost transactions, a growing fan ecosystem, access to liquid third-party marketplaces, trusted self-custody, long-term durability, and strong royalty compliance. Solana met every one of those standards.

When is the migration happening?

The migration begins in May 2026 and will take place over multiple days, in batches. Some fans may see their collectibles appear on Solana before others - that's expected and part of the rollout. Most of the work happens behind the scenes, so you don't need to do anything in real time. Certain assets may not migrate immediately where the underlying intellectual property requires additional review.

What is Metaplex Core, and why does it matter?

Metaplex Core is the on-chain standard Candy is building on within Solana. Unlike many other marketplaces where royalties depend on marketplace policies or off-chain agreements, Metaplex Core embeds royalty enforcement directly into the code. That protects creators, licensors, and rights holders every time a collectible changes hands. It also unlocks new fan experiences over time - smarter rewards, dynamic collectibles, and forms of digital utility that go beyond static ownership.

Will my collectibles look or work any differently after migration?

No. Your collectibles, their rarity, edition and serial numbers, and associated metadata all carry over unchanged. The migration is a technical format change - your assets themselves are not being modified.

What happens to my unopened packs?

Packs migrate in their current state. Nothing will be opened, altered, or changed during the migration. If you have an unopened pack today, it remains an unopened pack on Solana.

Active Fans & Migration Support

Who qualifies as an "Active Fan"?

An Active Fan is anyone who has either completed a transaction on Candy since January 1, 2024, or logged into the Candy platform and viewed their collection between January 1, 2024 and May 20, 2026. If you haven't yet qualified, logging into your account by May 20, 2026 is all it takes.

What does migration look like for Active Fans?

You don't need to take any action - migration happens automatically. Candy covers all technical services fees associated with moving your collectibles to Solana, including network fees and the work required to re-mint your assets onto the new blockchain. Active Fans also receive a self-custody Solana wallet at no charge to make the transition seamless. After migration, you'll log in to the new Candy website to view your migrated collection and accept our updated Terms of Use.

What if I'm not an Active Fan? Can I still migrate?

Yes. You can still migrate your collectibles during 2026 by requesting it through the new Candy website, which will include clear instructions. Before anything is moved, you'll be asked to review and accept the applicable technical services fees to migrate your selected assets. Fees can be paid using Candy platform credits or a credit card. Think of these fees as the cost of moving your collection to a new, more open platform - not a new purchase.

What happens to assets that aren't migrated?

Collectibles that aren't migrated will remain associated with the legacy system and accessible on candy.io for future use or migration at a later date - at least through December 31, 2026. We'll share further details on our legacy support policy in due course.

Inactive Accounts

What happens to inactive accounts?

Maintaining inactive accounts and preserving the associated digital assets creates ongoing operational, custody, and infrastructure costs for Candy. Beginning July 1, 2026, inactive accounts will be subject to a modest monthly custodial maintenance fee of $2 per account. After December 31, 2026, Candy will review accounts that remain inactive and evaluate whether to acquire or sell the associated assets to recover costs - applying any platform credits to balances due first. We'll make reasonable efforts to notify inactive fans and provide a meaningful opportunity to reactivate before any further action is taken.

How do I reactivate my account?

Log into your Candy account on the interim Candy website and review your collection. That's it - logging in by May 20, 2026 qualifies you as an Active Fan and includes you in the initial migration support process.

Wallets

Do I need to create a Solana wallet?

No. Candy will create a self-custody Solana wallet for you. It will be accessible the first time you log in to the new Candy website.

Can I use my own external Solana wallet?

We're evaluating options for fans who would like to connect their own self-custody wallet to their Candy account. More details on wallet configuration - including whether external wallets can be connected - will be shared in due course.

What does self-custody actually mean?

Self-custody means you hold your collectibles directly in your own wallet, rather than having them held on your behalf inside a platform's database. After migration, your assets live on Solana in your Candy-generated Solana wallet, and new purchases from candy.io will mint directly to that wallet.

Buying, Selling & Trading

How do I buy a Candy collectible?

Head to candy.io, create an account if you don't have one, find a product you like, and check out with a credit or debit card. After the Solana migration, new purchases will mint directly into your Solana wallet.

Will I still be able to buy collectibles at candy.io after the migration?

Yes. candy.io will continue to operate as the storefront for new product sales, events, and ways to grow your collection. Following the migration and platform relaunch, all new purchases will mint directly to your Solana wallet.

Where can I trade my collectibles after migration?

Secondary trading will be available through supported third-party Solana marketplaces including Magic Eden, with more to be announced. Self-custody on Solana means your collectibles aren't locked to a single platform.

Are there fees when I buy something on candy.io?

Yes. A standard processing fee for credit or debit card purchases is shown at checkout and is always charged in USD. Candy does not mark up this fee - it's a pass-through cost.

What payment options does Candy accept?

Credit and debit cards on candy.io. Candy platform credits can also be applied to primary sales, migration technical services fees where applicable, and select events and experiences.

Platform Credits

What are platform credits, and how can I use them?

Platform credits can be applied to future Candy primary sales, technical services fees for migration where applicable, and additional events and experiences on candy.io. Credits are not cash, do not constitute stored value, and are not redeemable for fiat currency. They have no value outside the candy.io platform.

Account Management & Security

Why do I have to verify my identity?

Identity verification helps protect your account and your collection, and helps Candy meet its compliance obligations. It's a one-time step for most fans and keeps the platform safer for everyone.

What should I do if I can't complete two-factor authentication or don't have a mobile device?

Reach out to fan-help@candy.io and our team will help you get back into your account safely. Please don't share verification codes or passwords with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Candy support.

Digital Collectibles 101

What is a digital collectible?

A digital collectible is a unique unit of data stored on a blockchain that certifies ownership of a digital asset - like an image, video, or other piece of content. Because each one is uniquely identified on-chain, it can't be duplicated or interchanged with another. Candy creates officially licensed digital collectibles tied to real-world moments and experiences. A physical product is only included when specifically advertised.

What is a blockchain?

A blockchain is a shared, tamper-resistant record of transactions maintained across many computers. It's what lets a digital collectible have a single verifiable owner and history, without depending on any one company to vouch for it. After migration, Candy collectibles live on Solana - a fast, low-cost, widely adopted blockchain.

What does it mean to "burn" a collectible?

Burning a collectible permanently removes it from circulation on the blockchain. It's an irreversible action. Burning is often used to unlock something new - for example, trading in an existing collectible for a different one - and we'll always be clear with fans about what burning a given asset entails before they do it.
